Illustration Friday: "Voices" oil painting

The thing about being uninspired is that everything, no matter how interesting and wondrous and fun it looks (and prolly is!), any idea or spark you might have turns dull and flat and muffled once you bring it inside to work on.
That's where I am right now. :(
My hair's not long enough for some dashing young artist to climb, so maybe I'll just paint the walls while I think of something...

  1. I like the feeling of possibility and uncertainty this painting conveys! Even though you feel uninspired, you creatively faced it and made something expressive. I hope your muse returns soon!

  2. Oh my, the muse is always fickle, but you've created something lovely to remind you that she's missing.

  3. Not that one needs to be reminded... well, at least not while she's missing!;) But, I'm almost pretty sure I heard someone singing in the shower this morning - that might've been her. Or a really loud neighbour.

  4. That's a great portrait with a great cropping. Very bold. The sky through the window looks like Van Gogh. :)

  6. Yes, yes, Van Gogh is waiting for you outside. That's just what I was thinking, too! Gorgeous, no matter how uninspired. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm in love with your curved staircase.

I've always thought it would be really painful to have someone climb your hair. Really, really lovely photo of you.

Have an absolutely marvelous holiday season, Nancy!

  7. Lol, so van Gogh's my dashing young? Weeeell, I do have a thing for redheads... though I always imagined them slightly less troubled. ;)
