There's a pill for everything, always has been

According to this article, medicine pills dating back to 130 BCE have been found off the coast of Tuscany, Italy (where my sister just came back from! And I'm telling you this with only a touch of envy -  covered up by the nice feeling of having her back home again;) or, rather, they were found some twenty years ago but the results came in only just now. The shipwreck the pills were found on was Greek, but at a time when Greek physicians, philosophers, artist etc, often served the Roman empire as slaves. The Romans did try their best, though, developing new tools and skills through the many wars they fought - by experimenting on the field, so to speak. Did you know that the Romans boiled their tools before and between patients? It took a while for that to catch up again.
